When life gives you puddles....
...put on some super cute rain boots and splash around!!!
Sometimes, it's the simple things in life that make you smile, and help you to remember that life is what you make of it. Today is Monday, and I woke up with a VERY RAINY day...Boo to that, right?
Wrong! I just bought the cutest rain boots from Target. They're the Zabrina polka dot rain boots by Merona that I bought for $24.99 (mainly for walking the dogs in inclement weather). :)
They are so cute and super fun so I decided to wear them to work! The compliments, laughs, and smiles have been rolling in all morning! So, I've decided that it's going to be a GREAT rainy Monday! :)
Enjoy the rubber eye-candy that is currently on my feet and keeping my tootsies dry!

Five Years....
It is so incredibly hard to believe but Mr. Chicken Wing and I have been dating for FIVE YEARS as of Saturday!!!! It's definitely the longest relationship that either of us has ever been in, and I would have to say we have learned so many things so far!
In order to really take a look at our time together, and being someone who happens to do research for a living, I decided to analyze how long we'd actually been a couple.
FIVE YEARS EQUALS:
* 60 months
* 261 weeks
* 1,826 days
* 43,829 hours
* 2,629,743 minutes
-And the Kicker!-
* 157,784,630 seconds
That's a lot of time! Haha! (Thank you Google Calculator, without which I wouldn't have been able to break that down for you!) All I really know is that I am exceptionally grateful for Mr. Chicken Wing. I can be tough to deal with sometimes, and he's done a great job of putting up with me so far!
So, here is to my handsome man....Mr. Chicken Wing!
I love you to pieces, babe!

IF YOU ARE ABLE, I WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP!
NOT-SO-FUN FACT OF THE DAY:
Today an estimated 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. In addition, 78 million baby boomers are approaching the age of greatest risk for developing this fatal disease.
This will be my second year supporting those affected by Alzheimer's, but it is the first year that I am supporting someone I actually know and love. I have been personally affected by this disease, and so I'm participating in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® to raise funds and awareness to fight this horrible disease. Our walk last year was a great success, and there were people from all walks of life showing their support - by walking, by running, by donating!
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research, and funds I raise will go directly toward supporting their efforts. I know I can make a difference with your support, should you feel inclined to give it! I also know that the current economy has made all of us re-evaluate where we allocate our monthly intake. It's definitely made it harder on everyone, and that is why I will be so thankful for any pennies I may receive towards this year's campaign! Thank you in advance for checking out the blog, and I cannot thank everyone enough for their extreme generosity - together, we can help end Alzheimer's!

2009 - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!
For those of you who know me, you know that my daddy raised me to be a die-hard North Carolina Tar Heels fan! If you watch television or surf the internet at all, then you know that my Tar Heels have brought the NCAA Men's Basketball Title back home to Chapel Hill where it belongs!!!!!!!! Although the game was not as exciting (and by exciting, I mean close) as I thought it would be, we played our hearts out, made smart decisions, and led the ENTIRE GAME. As a result, we showed the world that we could live up to the hype, and we also showed the world that we had EARNED our #1 seed. As I sit here right now, I am wearing my daddy's UNC sweatshirt, that I have worn to every UNC game that I have attended because I wanted to take him to the games with me. I know he is definitely happy as can be in heaven, and that point is evident to me just by looking at the sky today - it is the PERFECT shade of Carolina blue! So, this is my blog post dedicated to the best team in the country, with the best coach, Roy Williams, in the country. We are the champions. We have broken championship records. We have set the standard for college basketball.
We are THE University of North Carolina.
LET'S GO TAR HEELS!!!!!!
